Ace Technologies' Upgrade Controller
Ace Technologies' Upgrade Controller is a knowledge repository that comes to you seeded with a baseline of all the steps that are required to be done in the upgrade process. The Upgrade Controller came about as a result of our own experience with several upgrades, as a means to jumpstart the upgrade process, and ensure its reliability. Our DBAs have used this proprietary tool to conduct several successful upgrades.
Upgrade Checklist
Environment-Specific
The baseline is modified to suit your current environment and provides a filtered listing of the tasks to be performed, based on the modules being upgraded.
Time Capture
The Upgrade Controller captures the start and end times for a task. It also captures "lull" times that may occur between the start and end of a task. The captured time is used for reporting at a later stage. This is a great way to refine and improve the time taken on successive iterations.
Reporting
The Upgrade Controller provides three reports describing tasks required, time required for tasks, and anticipated downtime detail.
